Land of the Pines Chapter of AACN

Celebrating the Certified Nurse and Updates from AACN

Posted over 3 years ago by Dorinda Franklin

March 19th we are celebrating Certified Nurses Day. To our chapter members who have maintained or obtained their certifications through AACN during this historical pandemic year, thank you.

The biggest question every chapter is asking…. “When do we get to start meeting again in person?” Per our president’s guidance – “Safety FIRST. Although COVID numbers are down. We must continue to set the example. Nationals will not begin travel until October 2021.”

This year, alone, AACN created over 243 COVID resources for us to have at our fingertips. Additionally, our organization stood up multiple blogs and an online support group. Our theme is “This is Our Moment. All In.” There are so many resources on our webpage and thousands of hours that have been dedicated to improving our quality of the work environment, personal growth, and patient care. No need to recreate the wheel. AACN has already done it for you and your unit. Explore the website.

If you have not yet seen it, check out AACN’s microcredentialing. Amazing opportunity for all of us.

NTI is May 24-27. It is virtual AND will be on Pacific time.

TELL YOUR STORY: On the AACN website, click on Nurse Excellence. Scroll down to “Tell your story” to have it registered in the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress.

If you have not felt the sheer exhaustion now that COVID numbers are down, you will soon. It is what soldiers call “Battle Fatigue.” At the top of AACN website, you will find “COVID Resources.” Click on it and click on “Additional resources to find articles, webinars and our support group to assist you with your battle fatigue. You are not alone. We are feeling the fatigue around the world.

On that note, I personally want to thank each of you for your dedication to our profession. We may not be able to officially meet in person as a chapter, but we can still see each other at community events. Check out the local outdoor events starting back up in April.
